What is Guild Wars 2?

Guild Wars 2 is a massive multiplayer online role playing game, known as MMORPG for short, produced by developed by ArenaNet and produced by NCSoft. It is the sequel to the popular MMO Guild Wars which quickly became one of the most popular MMO games on the market.

Is Guild Wars 2 free?

Well yes and no. Yes it’s free as Guild Wars 2 has no subscription fees (just like the original Guild Wars), however you will have to buy the game itself and won’t be allowed to download for free like some other free MMO’s.

Is Guild Wars 2 an MMO?

Absolutely, Guild Wars 2 has a rich online world with real people playing as your comrades and your enemies. The world is constantly evolving and growing and will expand even further probably with Guild Wars 2 expansions that will no doubt be released.

How is Guild Wars 2 different from other MMOs?

Guild Wars 2 is special in the way that it manages to provide top of the line MMO experience, without the boring grinding normally featured in MMOs and with the huge added bonus of no monthly subscription fees. There is heavy use of instanced zones in Guild Wars 2, and it is quite easy to find competitive and skilled PVP play.

What are the races of Guild Wars 2?

Players in GW 2 can play any of the following new races: asura, harr, norn, and sylvari characters.

Guild Wars 2 Level Cap and Character Progression?

Guild Wars 2 aims to avoid grind based play so the level cap in Guild Wars 2 will be kept moderate.

Just like it was used in City of Heroes, Guild Wars 2 will have a sidekick system that will allow friends at two very distinct levels to still play together.

The PVP in Guild Wars 2 will follow a similar style for its PVP. Characters in Guild Wars 2 will be able to engage in PVP (Player vs Player) or GVG (Guild vs Guild) without having to level up or get items. All characters will have access to the same skills and items while fighting other players regardless of your state in the PVE world.

Guild Wars 2 Solo?

While some areas of the game will need other player support, GW2 will be soloable from start to finish. Content will scaled in difficulty depending how many players will play therefore allowing you to enjoy the content in any way you wish.

Original Guild Wars character usable in Guild Wars 2?

Guild Wars 2 is a whole new game from the original Guild Wars, and therefore you won’t be able to transfer your existing character. However, you WILL have your name reserved and achievements will be stored allowing you to receive rewards based on them.

Guild Wars 2 system requirements?

The PC requirements for Guild Wars 2 haven’t been finalized, however as with the original game, it will be playable on mid-range PCs.

Guild Wars 2 release date?

An official release date for Guild Wars 2 hasn’t been announced yet, but early 2011 is the best guess at the moment.

Guild Wars 2 beta?

Guild Wars 2 Beta has yet to begun, but sometime in 2010 is when it is expected.

Hope this initial Guild Wars 2 FAQ gives you all the basic information you were looking for in this what is bound to be a fantastic MMO.
